If you need the perfect afternoon activity to do with your little ones, a fun art project can’t be beat! For a new twist, we’ve found a creative way to create your own stamps. Not only is it great for little ones, but you’ll also create a gorgeous painting you can treasure for years to come:
Materials:
- Paper towels
- Three (3) apples
- A kitchen knife
- Googly eyes
- A black marker
- Red paint
- A paint brush
- Thick paper (large enough to fit a few apple shapes)
Step 1.
Carefully cut your apples in half while being careful to cut in a straight line. We recommend that parents handle this step.
Step 2.
Use your paper towels to dry each apple half.
Step 3.
Use your paint brush to apply red paint to the flat side of each apple half.
Step 4.
Carefully press each apple half against a sheet of paper and hold them in place for about 5 seconds.
Step 5.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create as many bugs as you would like.
Step 6.
Use your black marker to draw a black circle at the top of each apple stamp to create your ladybug’s head.
Step 7.
Next, use your marker to draw 2 antennae and several dots across the ladybug’s back.
Step 8.
Finish your ladybugs by gluing a pair of googly eyes onto each ladybug.
